Seeking Supervision?

"My goal as a supervisor is to equip you with the confidence to navigate any clinical challenge and to support your journey toward becoming a versatile, compassionate, and effective neuro-affirming psychologist. At the same time, I place great emphasis on the importance of self-care, partnering with you to remind you also to develop the tools and practices necessary to maintain your own well-being in this rewarding but demanding field." - Kirsten Chalmers (AHPRA Registered Supervisor)

Supervision with a Focus on Ed & Dev Psychology

As a supervisor with expertise in educational and developmental psychology, I am committed to nurturing your growth in this area of psychological practice. My approach to supervision emphasizes core skills, including case formulation and comprehensive risk assessment, equipping you to integrate diverse information sources and navigate the complexities of psychological care with confidence.

In addition to these essential skills, I hope to partner with you in strengthening your therapeutic techniques, ethical decision-making, and building strong therapeutic alliances,  no matter where you are in your career. I work with provisionally registered, fully registered psychologists who are seeking Ed & Dev Endorsement or knowledge, and my guidance is designed to reinforce your current competencies while also fostering specialized expertise in educational and developmental psychology.

Our supervision will focus on expanding your therapeutic toolkit with a range of evidence-based therapies. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Play Therapy to support my clients' mental health. I generally tailor my interventions to the unique needs of each client, enhancing flexibility and effectiveness as a clinician and enjoy sharing and comparing my approach to yours in our supervision sessions.

Finally, I prioritize cultivating self-care practices to prevent burnout. As a professional in this fi well-being to maintain the passion and energy needed for this demanding work.

In essence, if you are looking for a supervisor who can mentor you in becoming a well-rounded, resilient, and effective psychologist within the realms of educational and developmental psychology, I am here to support your professional journey every step of the way.
