Are you are Registrar seeking Supervision?

An Educational and Developmental Registrar, who is working toward full registration as an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, is required to undergo specific supervision as part of their training and pathway to registration. I have 15 years experience in both schools and private practice and I would love to pass on as much as I can to the next generation of Ed & Dev Psychologists.

I am passionate about
Ed & Dev Psychology

As an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, I am passionate about my area of practice. The field of educational and developmental psychology offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate various educational, social, and emotional challenges.

Every day is different! Whether it's focusing on intervention and support to enhance in enhancing learning outcomes, promoting emotional well-being, or conducting assessments to identify learning difficulties, designing individualized intervention and collaborating with educators and families to create inclusive learning environments.

It is a privilege to work with children, adolescents and their families, promoting their well-being and empowering them to overcome challenges. The field continually challenges me to grow both professionally and personally, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with so many amazing clients and clinicians.

Over the last 15 years educational and developmental psychology has allows me to draw on various theories, therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices to tailor my interventions to each individual's unique needs. It has enabled me to exploring new approaches while forcing me to stay up to date with the latest research, and weave my personality into my work.  And as I move from clinician into an exclusively supervisory role, I would like to share my passion, knowledge and insights to make the next generation of Educational and Developmental Psychologist even better.

Supervision Requirements
Ed & Dev Registrars
  1. The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) requires a minimum of 2 years of supervised practice for Educational and Developmental Registrars. During this period, they are expected to complete a specified number of supervision hours to fulfill the registration requirements.

  2. ducational and Developmental Registrars must engage a qualified supervisor who meets the criteria set by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA). The supervisor should possess appropriate qualifications and expertise in the field of Educational and Developmental Psychology.

  3. The PsyBA mandates regular and ongoing supervision throughout the registration period. The frequency and duration of supervision sessions may vary depending on the stage of training and specific requirements. Typically, Educational and Developmental Registrars are required to engage in regular fortnightly supervision sessions with their designated supervisor.

  4. The supervision content focuses on the development and enhancement of the registrar's competencies in educational and developmental psychology. It includes case discussions, reviewing assessments, treatment planning, interventions, ethical considerations, and professional development goals. The supervisor provides guidance, feedback, and support to help the registrar progress in their training and meet the required competencies.

  5. Educational and Developmental Registrars are often required to submit logbooks and signed supervision summaries and PD, documenting their progress and activities during the supervision period. These documents  serve as evidence of their supervised practice and are submitted to the PsyBA as part of the registration process.
