Psychological Support

1) Individual Therapy

Individual therapy aimed at helping women change their relationship with alcohol.  Kirsten offers 9 guiding principles over 10 sessions in an individual, face-to-face format for women who prefer more guidance and support in their journey, whether they are seeking a break from alcohol (30, 60 or 100 days) or long term sobriety (1 year +).

In presenting these principles, Kirsten weaves the following therapeutic approaches into her sessions:
  1. Psycho-education, presenting the latest research into alcohol and its effects on our bodies and minds.
  2. Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) to become more aware of thoughts and feelings that determine actions and consequences,
  3. Personalised integrative (PI) therapy to focus on the influence diet, exercise, sleep and social connection have on mental health,
  4. Motivational therapy (MT) to find the means and motivation to change,
  5. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to accept the things we cannot change and focus on the things we can,
  6. Identifying coping styles and strategies - the positive and negative, and developing new positive, long-lasting coping skills, and
  7. Mindfulness to find peace in an otherwise busy mind.

You may be thinking, I don't really need a psychologist for this journey of self-discovery.  Or you may find it hard to find a psychologist at exactly the time you decide to take the plunge so Kirsten has developed a program that encapsulates the key information you would have available to you in session in a program so you can get started on your won.

2) Self-paced Program (launching in July)

Replenish2 is a stand alone "program' for lack of a better word that can be followed without face-to-face counselling.  It is a set of guiding principles, grounded in theory and set out in 9 modules aimed at helping women change their relationship with alcohol.  Unlike other programs, there is no start, no finish, no mandatory completion.  It's self-paced, self-managed and is aimed at women who want to remain anonymous and who may not want to commit to therapy or face-to-face member groups.  They just want a chance to re-evaluate whether this substance is still serving them, as it once did. By the end of this "non-program" you will have all the information needed to do this in the privacy and comfort of your own home.
