About Kirsten ChalmersKirsten is the founder and principal psychologist at myturn2talk Psychological Services, which has been operating since 2010. She completed her Masters degree at the University of Melbourne (2009) and is endorsed by the Australian Health and Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a specialist in the area of Educational and Developmental Psychology and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
In the last 10 years, Kirsten has focused on child and adolescent mental health, working at primary schools, secondary schools and in her private practice. In her work with families she has increasingly become aware of a silent but growing problem perpetuated by the boozy mum culture. It doesn't fit the traditional "alcoholic" profile, but is easily as worrying and as prolific: Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) in women. As a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and working professional, she has turned her attention to helping women who have concerns about their drinking habits even if they don’t meet criteria for AUD. |
